Bitter Creek Western Live Steam Railroad 7.5-inch Gauge on the Nipomo Mesa Enjoy Unlimited Train Rides and BBQ! Saturday, May 17, 2003 - 10:00am to 4:00pm (BBQ served Noon-2pm) Proceeds benefited the Santa Maria Valley Railway Historical Museum  Kevin does some maneuvering of his SMVRR No. 1801 to get his rolling stock in the right order for the day's running. We understand that the conductor wanted a cushy seat on the end of the train!  Early morning boarding. In the foreground is a Pacific Coast Railway train headed by No. 2, an electric locomotive.  More early morning boarding, this time of the Northern (left) and of the SMVRR GP-9 (right).  Three generations of an Alvin All-Star Railroader ride in the middle car.  Another Alvin All-Star Railroader passenger (3rd, in white jacket) is spotted on this Northern express.  The SMVRR No. 1801 passes the grade crossing with a load of passengers.  Karl's Northern takes on water and gets a little oil late in the morning.  Cruising through the yard.  Lettin' off steam at day's end. |
