Today was the fifth annual "Choo Chew Saturday" fundraiser for the Santa Maria Valley Railway Historical Museum. 200 train lovers showed up for great train fun and a fabulous Santa Maria-style BBQ. Dick gets the flag raised at the beginning of the day.  Run days often start with some cleaning.  Preparing for the Santa Maria BBQ lunch.  This caboose carried a real lantern with a real oil flame.  The yard saw much action today.  The Blakey brothers crewed the Southern Pacific black widow all day.  Santa Maria Valley Railroad No. 1801. |
