Author launches junior driving manual for children to ensure better road safety

The junior manual aims to equip young people with basic knowledge of the highway code, road signs and the various career paths in the automotive industry.

Relebogile Mabotja spoke to Mbali Mavundla, author of “Kids on the Road Book”, about a junior driving guide for children in grades R to 7.

JOHANNESBURG: KwaZulu-Natal-born author Mbali Mavundla studied for a degree in journalism at Tshwane University of Technology and was unable to find employment in the industry after graduation, she had to change careers.

Mavundla has written the junior manual “Kids on the Road Book” which aims to equip young people with basic knowledge about the rules of the road, traffic signs and the different career paths in the automotive industry.

The book is suitable for students in grades R to 7, but all ages can benefit from it.

She decided to write the book while working in an auto service shop and helping high school students get their driver’s license.

She wanted to help learners from different backgrounds, often intimidated by K53’s complex language, to get their driver’s license.

You can just imagine that you are in matrix, you are only just beginning to learn then, and the language itself is very tricky.

Mbali Mavundla, author

The writer said his book aims to address the lack of qualified drivers on the road, help children learn to navigate their environment, reduce illegal pathways to licensing and empower job applicants. looking for a job.

When kids don’t have a driver’s license, but you don’t offer it at school, you’re already setting them up for failure.
