DC Pulwama Chairs District Road Safety Committee Meeting

PULWAMA, 12th April: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, (Chairman of the Road Safety Committee), Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary, today convened a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee to discuss the implementation implementation of the traffic management plan in the district.

During the meeting, detailed discussions and deliberations were held on road safety measures, identification of black spots, installation of crash barriers, organization of road safety awareness camps, medical camps and free numbers 108 and 102 is the first communication system, etc.

The DC stated that road safety is the prevention and protection of traffic accidents using all road safety measures. He asked those concerned to coordinate the streamlining of traffic management to avoid traffic jams in the neighborhood.

The DC has ordered relevant authorities to post appropriate signs in accident-prone areas.

He further called on those concerned to convey the importance of road safety to students and collaboration with schools and colleges is necessary where students can be encouraged to volunteer as road safety ambassadors.

The DC also ordered the relevant officer of the Department of Motor Vehicles to organize special traffic safety awareness camps and generate the necessary awareness among the masses.

SSP Pulwama, all executive officers of MC, Deputy Regional Transport Officer Pulwama, representatives of transporters as well as other concerned officers were present during the meeting.
