There’s no doubt that actor Ben Affleck pleasantly surprised fans of the DC Universe after donning the black bat suit. After playing Bruce Wayne in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice for the first time, he is reprising his role in Justice League, then again in the much darker version of Zack Snyder’s film. He has yet to star in his own solo Batman movie.
With Ben Affleck reprising his role as Batman, it’s certainly exciting to think about where the character will go. When the news of Ben Affleck becoming the next Batman was made public, fans of the franchise didn’t seem so happy. They thought Affleck didn’t have the physique to play The Caped Crusader. This concern mainly came after Christian Bale had already set the bar in the sky. The loss of his trusted sidekick Robin and his parents, along with other consternations, weighed heavily on the superhero. Affleck embodied the character’s feelings perfectly. Snyder’s idea of bringing a “paradigm shift” for Batman was actively understood and practiced by the actor.
