Transport Scotland will discuss road issues in Drumuillie and other local areas on Saturday morning at the Boat of Garten Community Hall from 10am.
A public consultation has been held at the suggestion of local MSP Fergus Ewing, who told the Strathy: ‘Transport Scotland is hosting the event, where minor trunk road improvements, active traffic lanes and speeding will be on the agenda. I requested that they deal with two defects – the speed sign and the ‘pond’ on the main road on the slope just beyond the sawmill.”
The meeting will be addressed by Transport Scotland officials, a traffic police representative and someone from HITRANS.
Richard Egan of AMEY, who has just taken over the main roads maintenance contract from BEAR Scotland, will also speak.
AMEY will be responsible for the works for at least the next eight years with an option for a further four-year extension.
After the speeches, questions and points will be invited and a discussion will take place.
“Anyone who is interested is welcome,” Mr. Ewing said.
