Two Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) officers were killed in Anambra State on Sunday.
The officials, whose identities were not available at press time, are said to have carried out their routine traffic rescue patrol operations at Umuezedibia Junction on Uga-Ezenihite-Igboukwu in Aguata Local Government Area of State.
Anambra police authorities have confirmed the incident.
Deputy Police Commissioner for Operations DCP Aderemi Adeoye said the two officers were killed while another was rescued with serious gunshot wounds and taken to hospital.
There has been an upsurge in attacks in Anambra lately.
The administrative headquarters of Nnewi South Local Government Area was attacked on March 31, while three Local Police Divisions being refurbished in the same LGA were attacked 24 hours later.
